German broadside describing an earthquake in China: ?A terrible earthquake has struck in the Department of Chant Fon(?) in the Province of Horan (Henan?). It began on the 28th June 1834, and only stopped on the 19th of July. This earthquake was felt all the way to the provinces of Chonuincie (Shanxi?) and Shandong. In the district of Wou'ugan (Wugang xian?) very many people were killed in the collapse of houses, and 185 farmhouses were destroyed in the neighboring villages. It is calculated that the number of houses which were destroyed was about 100,000; 4000 unlucky people were buried in the ruins. 700 seriously injured.?
