The responses of three instrumented buildings employing different structural systems (reinforced concrete bearing walls, reinforced concrete frames, structural steel frames) subjected to the Morgan Hill earthquake of April 24, 1984 (M = 6.2) and the Mt. Lewis earthquake of March 31, 1986 (M = 5.8) are evaluated based on measured accelerograph records. None of the buildings suffered structural damages . Peak ground motions ranged from 4 to 6% g. The three buildings are between 19 and 23 km from the epicenters.
