Description: A 700,000 liter capacity elevated reinforced concrete water tank which had strut damage throughout. Note that stirrups are "W" type. The actual water content at the time of the earthquake was 600,000 liters. Pipe broke underneath the tank, and separated one meter as the water discharged from the tank. (Rio Negro, Chile.)
