Summary of Research Results to Date

The trial design is based on the current seismic design code in Japan. The sizes of the columns are 100 cm by 100 cm for stories one through nine, and 80 cm by 80 cm for stories ten through twelve. The estimated ultimate shear strength is 1.37 times of that required in the x-direction and 1.48 times of that required in the y-direction.

Four motions are used in the inelastic dynamic analyses. Each of the motions is scaled to 25 kine and 50 kine. The maximum story drifts are 1/303, 1/285 under 25 kine input, and 1/131, 1/148 under 50 kine input. The ductility ratio is just above 2.0 and under 25 kine input.
