Design Codes, Regulations, and Guidelines for Structures Incorporating Protective Systems |
![]() |
As various innovative technologies for protecting civil engineering structures from earthquakes have been developed and implemented, there has been a parallel effort toward developing formal design guidelines. Of course, the philosophy and format of these documents have varied from country-to-country and from application-to-application, but there are also similarities in the methodologies for design, modeling, testing, and acceptance of these newer technologies.
At this time (July, 1997) a survey document and listing of pertinent guidelines and regulations for the design of structures incorporating passive protective systems is being finalized. This will be made available at this location shortly, so please check back soon.
