Applications of Passive Protective Systems Around the World

In the past two decades, the number of applications of innovative technologies in earthquake-resistant construction has increased dramatically, and the growth in interest has not been confined to any single country. Substantial numbers of structures have been completed in the United States, Japan, New Zealand, Italy, Canada, China, and many other countries throughout the world. We have compiled lists of these applications - categorized by structure type, type of system, and country - on the following pages totaling 721 structures. However, given the worldwide scope of this undertaking, it is clear that not all applications have been included.
