Tectonic Upthrust -- A Critique of Cotton's & Griggs' Reports.
Villa Del Monte Emergency Homeowners Association (VEHA), Los Gatos, California.
Following the Loma Prieta Earthquake two Technical Advisory Groups issued reports about the landslides that occurred in Villa Del Monte area in the Santa Cruz mountains. This critique shows the two reports contradict each other. Both reports concentrate on only one hypothesis to explain cracks in the Villa Del Monte area. Other hypotheses are given little discussion or mention. The reports contain data that contradicts the working hypothesis of reactivited landslides. This review surveys the professional scientific literature published by geologists in the 18 months since the earthquake
