The objective of this study was to develop a decision-making methodology in seismic risk management which can directly incorporate newly obtained information as well as existing data on activities of surrounding seismic sources and systematically utilize up-to-date simulation models for the relevant processes. The risk is expressed as the expected life-cycle cost, which is the expected amount of payments over the life of the building. As an example, the proposed methodology is applied to an actual office building newly-constructed in Tokyo.
