The investigation described is limited to single-bay frames of only ten stories subjected to ground motions of short durations. The analysis includes the effects of column overdesign, stiffness degradation and the P-delta effect. Maximum values of story displacements, interstory drifts, beam and column hinge rotations and column axial forces are determined and compared.
