To serve as a basis for probabilistic design and damage assessment, mean values and standard deviations of ductility factors were determined for each model having a range of prescribed strength values and having a range of natural periods. Adopting the standard philosophy; i.e., only minor damage is acceptable under moderate earthquake conditions and total damage or complete failure should be avoided under severe earthquake conditions, required strength levels were investigated for each model.
