Influence of base rock characteristics on ground response

This investigation involved a study of the effect of the deformability of the rock underlying nine different soil deposits, ranging in thickness from 50 to 300 ft, on the acceleration amplitude and frequency characteristics of the motions developed in the rock and at the surface of the deposits. The results of analytical methods for ground response evaluation are examined.
