A Shape Memory Alloy Model for Uranium-Niobium Accounting for Plasticity

A 1-D model for the behavior of U-Nb shape memory alloys that accounts for plasticity is presented. In particular, the authors account for the erasure of memory effect that occurs with increasing plastic strains. An algorithmic approximation to the model is also discussed in some detail and a comparison to some experimental results is shown.
