This report presents the results of a study of shrinkage and cracking characteristics of concrete containing the same materials as used in the construction of the Engineering Building at San Jose State College campus. These studies were carried out in the Engineering Materials Laboratory of the University of California, Berkeley. The purpose of these studies was to determine the relative magnitudes of shrinkage and of cracking tendencies of concrete mixes made with Sunol aggregates as opposed to those made with Fair Oaks aggregates.
