The Earthquake Engineering Online ArchiveBehavior of a Skew Steel-Deck Bridge Under Static and Dynamic LoadsBouwkamp, Jack G. UCB/SESM-1965/02, Dept. of Civil Engineering, University of California, Berkeley, 1965-06, 111 pages (500/C23/65/02(a)) The experimental and analytical studies described in this report were carried out to evaluate first the structural response of a skewly stiffened skew steel deck plate under concentrated static loads. The immediate objectives of the experimental phase of the program were to obtain strain and deflection records in order to determine the load distribution in a prototype bridge structure when subject to single and combined concentrated static loads. An analytical program was developed to permit a rational prediction of the structural behavior of such a deck system under concentrated wheel loads. Document is not currently available on-line.
