The Earthquake Engineering Online ArchiveBehavior of a Single Span Composite Girder BridgeBouwkamp, Jack G.; Brown, Colin B.; Scheffey, Charles F.; Yaghmai, Saeed UCB/SESM-1965/05, Dept. of Civil Engineering, University of California, Berkeley, 1965-08, 102 pages (500/C23/65/05(a)) Examines test data obtained from a single-span of the composite steel-concrete highway bridge at Webber Creek (El Dorado County, Calif.) on U.S. Highway 50 under a known moving vehicle load. The data were the results of strain gage readings on the steel members and reinforcing bars, and from pressure gage readings in the concrete. The reduced data were compared to the results of an analysis in which the bridge span was idealized to a grid system. Comparison between computed and measured structural effects indicated significant differences. Available online: http://nisee.berkeley.edu/documents/SEMM/SEMM-65-05.pdf (1 MB) |
