The Analysis of Thin Shells By a Finite Element Procedure

A 5-degree-of-freedom nodal point displacement system is used which permits substantial mesh refinement in treating shells with intricacies of geometric detail. The convergence properties with decreasing mesh size for both element types are studied, and the results of several analyses are compared with existing solutions.
