An analytical procedure is presented for the evaluation of the nonlinear dynamic response of thin shells of arbitrary geometry. Geometric nonlinearity associated with the finite deflections of the structures is considered; the material is assumed to remain elastic throughout the analysis. The nonlinear dynamic response is obtained using a direct step-by-step integration of the equations of motion.
