The Earthquake Engineering Online ArchiveImplications of Strong Motion Data for Design of Reinforced Concrete Bearing Wall BuildingsMoehle, Jack P. UCB/SEMM-1990/01, Dept. of Civil Engineering, University of California, Berkeley, 1990, 197 pages (500/C23/90/01) The performance of two multi-story, reinforced concrete bearing wall buildings subjected to low to moderate intensity ground motions in California is studied and compared with similar buildings subjected to the 1985 Chile earthquake. It is concluded there exists a broad class of bearing wall buildings for which ductile details are not necessary. The report is presented as three separate papers.
