Computer program for static and dynamic analysis of linear structural systems

The current version of the computer program SAP for the static and dynamic analysis of linear structural systems is described. The analysis capabilities of the program, the finite element library, the numerical techniques used, the logical construction of the program and storage allocations are discussed. The main advantages of the program as a general purpose code become apparent. Results of analyses as comparisons with other existing solutions are given, and running times are included which demonstrate the efficiency of the program.
