Calibrated site models using empirical data from strong motion stations on three, deep (90 to 180 m), stiff, soil sites shaken during the 1994 Northridge earthquake were developed using Shake91 and D-MOD software. Site models were then subjected to a suite of scenario earthquakes representing levels of acceleration ranging from 0.15g to 0.53g and code recommendations for a revised 5% damped elastic normalized design spectrum for deep soil sites were developed.
