Analytical and laboratory test results of shear zone development in fiber-soil composites and the influence of fiber properties on the deformation characteristics of fiber-soil composites are reported. The shear deformation pattern of the fiber-soil composite is described by a new, smooth exponential decay function model. The shear zones tend to be wider in fiber-soil composites than in soil alone, and the width of the shear zones increases with increasing stiffness of the composite.
