Field instrumentation study of an aluminum box culvert structure

The field behavior of an aluminum box culvert with 17 ft. 6 in. span and a 6 ft. 2 in. rise was investigated by measuring strains and deflections in the culvert during backfilling and under a very heavy live load and comparing measurements with finite element analyses.
