CONSAX: a computer program for axisymmetric finite element analysis of consolidation

Modifications to the earlier CON2D program (a plane strain program) were made for the analysis of axisymmetric consolidation problems. The report describes the new CONSAX program, contains a more detailed explanation of the methods used to obtain the soil parameters from test data, and provides a description of the behavior of the revised Cam Clay model under undrained conditions.
