Seismic behavior of active beam links in eccentrically braced frames

The authors describe their investigation in a two-part report: the first part contains the results of their experimental study of the behavior of active links and the second part concerns the elastoplastic analysis of eccentrically braced frames, with emphasis on accurate modeling of the active link elements. Five numerical examples related to eccentrically braced frames are presented, and an appendix deals with the effects of warping restraint in thin-walled beams.
