Investigates the seismic response of selected plaster cast sculptures belonging to a collection scheduled to be displayed on the University of California, Berkeley campus. The study examines the sliding and rocking response of six freestanding statues on pedestal bases with typical dimensions. The ground motions used in this study have been selected to satisfy the magnitude and distance combinations from nearby strike-slip earthquakes on type S subscript c soils. Floor motions associated with the selected ground motions have also been used in the seismic response analysis.
