BUMP: Bayesian Updating of Model Parameters

Following a short introduction to the Bayesian theorem, the use of Bayesian methods in model assessment is highlighted in the context of structural reliability. Application of the BUMP computer program to assess a model relating the elastic modulus of concrete to its compressive strength and a model describing the evolution of the compressive strength of plain concrete with time is provided. A BUMP "user's manual" is appended.
